Women shout against the regime from a rooftop in Teheran.
On june 12, 2009 the Iranian presidential elections were held, and the results were strongly contested by the population. Every night at 10, when streets are empty, cries of Òdeath to the dictatorÓ and ÒAllah u AkbarÓ (Allah is Great) echoed through Teheran: itÕs the call of the dissidents against Ahmadinejad and the regime coming from the rooftops of their own home. A deeply simbolic act that recalled the shouts of ÒAllah u AkbarÓ to show opposition to the Monarchy at the time of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
